We can collect tapes which are local to us and drop them back to you and we have a very quick turnaround. Please check out our customer feedback throughout this site.

Tape Baking and Mold

Some formats of video tape which haven't been played for many years, will almost certainly need 'baking'. Tapes can suffer from what is known as 'Sticky-Shed Syndrome' where moisture has built up over a long period of time and rendered the tape sticky and unusable. Baking at a low temperature for a sustained period of time will dry out the moisture and help the tape temporarily function as new. We have a baking unit and problem tapes would need at least 12 hours to deem the tape suitable for playback.

We can also clean tapes that have built up white powder mould and the costs for both cleaning and baking would be added to the final bill.

If you have any further questions, then please don't hesitate to get in touch.

"Recently, I found some old VHS tapes in a box in the loft. I couldn't play them as my VCR had packed up years ago. So, I got in touch with David and he has done a magnificent job in transferring the contents onto DVD. It is great because the whole family can now relive memorable moments from family holidays and parties from twenty plus years ago, which would otherwise have been consigned to history via the dustbin.

David's service is quite remarkable. I saw his ad. on the Friday, he picked up the tapes on the Sunday and I was able to view the new DVDs, which he brought round, on the Tuesday.

I have no hesitation in recommending David's service to you. You will enjoy reliving those important moments from yesteryear.

Also, if you like concept albums, why not purchase a copy of his "Decades" CD? I did and it is great with a highly individual format and wonderful music from an excellent singer/songwriter."

Sending Tapes Via Post

If you are sending tapes through the post, please use either 'signed for' or 'special delivery' options to further protect the tapes whilst in transit.

Our contact email is david@ditelirecords.co.uk.

If you want the tapes back, then the return postage will be added to the final bill.

USB/DVD

Transfers can be put onto DVD or USB. However, we find that having transfers put onto a USB is far more beneficial than DVD with much more space for your transferred footage. Backups can be made much easier from a USB and also USB sticks will play in most modern televisions. We have brand new USB sticks here up to 256GB and prices vary. Bigger hard drives, if needed, can also be ordered if required. If you prefer to send your own USB/Hard drive to use, then please make sure they are 3.0 transfer speed, have plenty of space and formatted to either exFat or NTFS.
